At the heart of it all is our brewmaster, JT. He is the creative force behind every pint we pour. His passion for brewing started back in college, where he experimented with small batches in his basement, learning from fellow homebrewers. In 2006, fate stepped in — CJ’s was searching for a new brewer, and JT was looking for a career he could truly pour his heart into. Despite a little hesitation from his parents, he jumped in headfirst and has been crafting amazing brews for us ever since!

For JT, being a brewmaster is both the toughest and most rewarding job he has ever had. He thrives on the creativity, hands-on work, and the ever-evolving challenges of brewing. When he is not crafting his signature beer, such as his personal favorite, Rich Hagg Red, you’ll find him always on the lookout for fresh inspiration from around the world.

Looking ahead, JT is excited to dive into brewing more fruit-infused beers and experimenting with locally sourced Michigan hops. He is also eager to push the boundaries with bold, high-gravity brews.
